Tonight Ben, Michelle and Karen came around for dinner since I hadn’t had to chance to catch up with them for ages. Although I ran into Ben and Michelle last week at Jorge farewelling another friend of mine, Katherine, we didn’t really get a chance to chat that much. Catching up with Karen was also long overdue (especially since I was looking forward to seeing her at our last visit to Koh-ya). Though we talked about old times at Elcaro, it was good to hear everything was going well in their current state of events.
After M&M requested the appropriate blog entry and picture be posted, it becomes a whole later hard to lower your standards for dinner when friends come around (especially when those coming to dinner have seen it). So in the attempt to continue the tradition, another three-course meal was had by all:
- Entree: Pesto and Onion Bread
- Main: My variation of meat and three veg (Moroccan Lamb, Honey Roasted Pumpkin, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Balsamic Green Beans) served with a Red Wine Gravy
- Dessert: Custard fruit tarts served with vanilla ice-cream and a hazelnut chocolate sauce.
Despite my passion in food, believe me when I say I don’t eat like this every night.
Oh. My. Gosh. Why are you wasting all that time on that geek computer stuff? Open up a restaurant in SF and feed me! 🙂 I love that lamb/pumpkin mix.
Good lord!! How come we never ate like that when I was back in Oz! Admittedly you did come up with some … shall we say creations but this time you’ve exceeded yourself. You’ve done well my son!
Man… last night was the best. Pat went all out and created the best meal.
I recommend securing an invite to one of Pat’s dinners. Well worth it.

Thanks for the complements guys. It’s always fun entertaining though perhaps I need to get a dishwasher in… 😀 I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the other two bottles of wine though… Mike – we’ll have to organise Round II Dinner and then perhaps Round II Rematch with Marie (or should it be the other way around?)
Yes, it was a fantastic feast… the lamb was cooked to perfection and I enjoyed the Honey Roasted Pumpkin. I’m not a big fan of pumpkin but this was an excellent combination. Then along came dessert… well I think the picture says it all. Excellent night Pat! Thanks again
