Is it me or is every year going by quicker than the last? Unbelievably another staff Christmas Party has come to pass already. This year Jenny organised for our Christmas Party to be held at the Loop Bar just near Bond Street tube station and a street behind Oxford Sreet. As things turned out we actually ended up spending the entire day there from our quiz in the morning starting at 10am until just after midnight when the last of left the dancefloor on the lower lower floor. (I can’t believe that I, miss bored and sometimes anti-social, managed to stay interested for over 14 hours!)
At this year’s Christmas Party we said farewell to Ray who has taken an opportunity to retire and we also welcomed a few new members to the team.
Christmas lunch at the Loop Bar was nowhere near as good as it was at Sugar Reef last year but I was pretty impressed that they actually got our pre-orders correct – even down to how well the steaks were cooked. They had to get points for that. Generally service was also friendly and good except for this one woman at the bar who was just horrible. I don’t even want to waste my time talking about her!
Leading up to this day the big debate was where the “after-party” would occur – this is the traditional meet up with other teams in London. Happily all the other teams decided to come to the Loop which made it much easier for us. We booked a booth (basically just to store our coats and make funny coat peoople) and we were in business. I quite liked it as a venue – it wasn’t so overly-crowded and as we were able to get a booth for most of the evening we also had somewhere to sit and relax for those who wanted to, yet the music was good enough to dance to. Plus of course there was the slightly dodgy and seedy dance floor on the lower lower ground floor where a few of us eventually moved to at the end of the night. The music was a bit hit and miss but at least the Loop Bar was a bit of a balance of the usual Porterhouse pub setting and last year’s Tiger Tiger.
If there was one thing to complain about it was the coat checking process. Eventually a few of us checked our coats in (for an expensive 2 quid!) Checking-in the coats was easy enough but getting them out again was a ‘mare! It was total chaos and disorder.
Here are some of the sillier or stranger pics of the night

And photos from the dance floor though we don’t really appear to be doing much dancing!
And if you can even believe it there are more photos here.
