Boy gets out of jail. Boy returns to the mean streets of East London. Boy wants out of the bad life but Boy has a gun. Boy’s best pal picks a fight with a rival. Rivalry escalates and Boy’s pal wants to kill rival. Boy is drawn into helping pal. Rival seeks revenge. Boy’s pal is killed. Boy is killed. In a side note, Boy’s baby brother finds gun and accidentally shoots friend.
Although this is a story about the clichéd life on the street, much of the violence is intimated from off-screen so there appears to be at least a genuine attempt to speak of the impact of guns and gangs on the home life than milking the movie for its bloodshed. It is a moving presentation with honest acting and should be appreciated by those interested in this genre.
