Congratulations to Lana and Mike who were engaged this week in the lovely romantic city of Venice. I’ve known these two for quite a few years now and I’m glad to see them still going strong together. They seem pretty motivated to get married too as they have already worked out when and where they want their wedding! Congratulations guys!!
Today both Lana and Mike were subjected to my dodgy tour guiding skills around London. Its pretty funny that I’ve been over here, what, just over two and a half years and although I sort of know my way around its amazing how much more you learn when you’re taking people around!
We hit some major typical tourist sights today starting with breakfast at Southbank. Its just as well that they knew what they wanted to see as I had no idea where to take them. We ended up walking to most places with both of them being surprised how easy it was to get around by foot. We toured aroud Leicester Sq, Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Sq, took a peak at the queen at Buckingham Palace, walked around southbank including seeing the Eye. Then becuase we were all rather tired we hopped on the tube to Harrods. Oh dear. I thought being on Oxford St yesterday was bad – Harrods was so much worse! Talk about crowds!
Anyway, it was great to catch up with Lana and Mike and be able to spend the day with them. Hopefully I’ll post some of the pics when they get back home and send them across.
