Another movie which I didn’t think I’d enjoy Hot Fuzz apparently comes from the makers of Shaun of the Dead. Not that I’ve seen Shaun of the Dead.
Nicholas Angel, Simon Pegg, is a great cop but is making all the other cops in London look bad so he is sent off to the quite and apparently crime-village of Sandford. He starts off dealing with some random odd but unthreatening incidences but it doesn’t take long for things to get ugly and soon Nicholas Angel has a number of gory deaths to investigate. Accidents – the townsfolk seem to think so. Murder – this is what Nicholas Angel believes.
Sandford is not what it seems and soon enough you are immersed in violence, blood, explosions, gun-fights, and car-chases.
This is not the usual comedy. Not only is there a lot of action but the comedy is very smart and there is great attention to detail. The mini-jokes are easy to miss but even so this one will have you at once laughing and cringing. Great movie!
