Its been a year and a half since the fourth instalment in the Harry Potter movie franchise was released and just like every Harry Potter movie released to date there will no doubt be a copious amount of coverage and critical review so probably nothing in this review that hasn’t been said already. Plus we’ve also seen all the adverts about how Harry, and the rest of the crew, have all grown up and how Harry has his first kiss *gasp!* so we know what the movie promises.
To some extent it delivers. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is at all time darker and more sinister than ever before and for Harry the dangers are now both physical and psychological. However, to me the movie didn’t quite captured the sheer terror you feel when you’re reading the book. Having said that it was still cinematically impressive and creative.
Overall, if you’re into Harry Potter, you will buy into this movie. If not, its still some good story telling supported by generally well acted parts.
